Leman Russ Tesla Pattern #1

A little preview here :) I made some months ago a little steampunkish cannon with no particular purpose, and now I like the direction the project is going in. I've mounted it on top of a leman russ hull and it really looks badass. Steel need to add some coils and stuff now before I get to a real steampunk tank vehicle:)

Have a seat

And forward we go. I’d like to share with you some photos of a project that has been keeping me busy lately. I love the concept of the witch hunters’ throne of judgment.  Unfortunately the model,  although still very nice, doesn’t much resemble the artwork in the codex, the scale in particular it’s all wrong, it’s like half as high as it should be. So, I decided to use a pair of forgeworld dreadnought’s feet  instead of the silly flat ones that come with the model to enhance the height a bit.

Then I started working on the torso. It would have been nice of me to take some step-by-step pictures, as it took me a few hours,  but this was one of the cases of those conversions you vaguely have in mind and that define themselves as you go on chopping and gluing. Thus, I have pictures of the finished torso only:

And who’s that creepy guy sitting there in the place of Karamazov?  Well, It’s an old model indeed, some of you might still recognize it thought…place your bets!
Since I want this guy to count both as Karamazov and a venerable dreadnought (possibly even a librarian if I’m ever to play BA) I will keep the arms switchable

I like him so much, that I decided to make another one!  This time I’ll start from the objective marker of space hulk, a wonderful little gem of a sculpt (like everything from the space hulk box actually). Also, I got me a pair of venerable dreadnoughts hands for the future…

seems like someone is going to have a new shiny sword :)

Animal Squig Farm #1

Here's another little project of mine, the animal-squigs! Basically, I wanted something really original for my unit of squig hoppers to be used in my tropical-themed army of Orcs & Goblins. The experiment is going nicely so far I think. Anyway, this post is about da Boss of the unit, the shark-squig :

The poor little halfling from the old giant kit plays the role of the carrot here :D I used the head of some 40k gretchin to emphasize the craziness of the scene!

And some details

Me hopes you likey!

Renegade Guard heavy mortars

Let us commence!

Here's in a few steps my artillery unit for my renegade imperial guard of the 666° poisoned hearts (count as griffons). It's a real basic conversion, but i'm pretty much satisfied with the final look of it!

First off, I glued together two old cds, added some shaped polyurethane to give a general look of "trench". Then I added some random spikes from the chaos vehicles sprue, and a few stripes of barbed wire.

And here's the two heavy mortars from forgeworld's dkok . To make them look enough "chaotic" i removed the imperial eagles from the sides, and  added a shoulderpad and a piece of frontal armor from the terminator lord of chaos sprue.

What the bases look like with some final touches:

And here's the servants. I swapped just a pair of arms to make them look a bit more "disciplined".

And some final shots:

That's all!:) A simple but eye-catching conversion, going to enlarge the ranks of my renegade guard.
And there's a lot more of them nasty guardsmen coming ;)

So much for a start

This is a blog about assembling, converting and painting some nice miniatures. Nothing new, you'll say. True.We know that and so we'll try and put on show our personal very best. And if you enjoy this blog just half as much as we enjoy writing it, then we enjoy it twice as much as you :)
